Hands on Training

Every Smart Fish Method Teaching Candidate is given a minimum of 40 hours of in-water, hands on training with children of every age group, every skill level, and every developmental level. Each teaching candidate is required to successfully demonstrate the teaching and mastery of every Smart Fish Method Skill with multiple age groups. Special hands-on training with infants and toddlers is a requirement for all Smart Fish Method teachers. The Smart Fish Method can be taught to infants as young as 2 months old. Research has shown that young infants take to the water much better than older children so we train all of our teachers how to properly handle, hold, teach, and communicate with infants in a loving, caring way the leads to safer kids at an earlier age.

All Smart Fish Method teachers are given the latest information on child development and stroke technique, giving them a unique edge. Our Smart Fish Method trainers have worked with U.S. National and Olympic coaches, learning from the top, what they can do to give every Smart Fish Swimmer the best chance at success.
